I am a post graduate student in the School of Modern Languages and Linguistics at the University of Sheffield. My area of study is translation, and I am particularly interested in second language acquisition.
A tool that is sometimes used to aid second or foreign language learning is the dual language book. This is a book that is written in two languages. I am undertaking an initial study to see how dual language books are used by young people learning a new language. By understanding how the books are used, it will be possible to improve their design for future students of second languages.
The information gathered through the questionnaires will be used only for the purposes of the research and no personal information will be passed to any third party.
