Due to popular request I am giving this pattern on the understanding that you may find it difficult without me looking over your shoulder. To try and help I have written it out in very long hand but this has not yet been tested to see if it is OK. I'm afraid I can't offer any more help.

MATERIALS:
In all the same thickness have 4 balls of thread.....yellow, white, red, green.
One shuttle.

GENERAL DIRECTIONS:
This pattern has no decorative picots so make all picots small, just big enough to take a join.
There are three sections

It is best to fasten off (i.e. tie and sew in ends) each section before adding the next section. If you are not sure about any of the Abbreviations I have used look at the Abbreviations in TAT FIVE
Round one YELLOW CENTRE: Put about 18 inches of yellow thread on the shuttle and do not cut away from the ball. Ring 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 1 close, RW, Make a lock stitch to form a false picot ( I counted this as the first ds of the next chain.) continue on round, lock joining to each picot on the ring in turn: (Ch 1 - 1, LJ,) 10 times, fasten off to the false picot instead of LJ the final time.
Fasten off and sew in ends.
Round two THE WHITE ROSE Put about 2 yards of white thread on the shuttle and do not cut from the ball.
LJ to any free picot on the Yellow Centre and then join to each following picot in turn as you work:
Ch 1 - 5, RW, Ring 6 + 6 close, RW, Ch 5 - 1, LJ. This forms one of the five petals for the white rose.
Make the other four petals in the same way PLUS join the petals, so the first chain becomes Ch 1 + 5 and also join beginning to end in the final chain.


Fasten off and sew in ends.


Round three,four,five THE RED ROSE AND GREEN LEAVES
Have the white rose with the best side up.
There are three rounds in this section.
Have three yards of green thred on the shuttle.
LJ the green thread to the white thread between two chains on the previous round, at the close-up point of a ring.
Get rid of the green end in the next chain.
(Ch 6, LJ [to the next white joining picot of the previous round],R 4 - 4 close, LJ to same place as last LJ, Ch 6, LJ* to the close-up end of the next white ring) 5 times.
Get rid of the red end in the next chain.
(Ch 7 - 7, LJ to the red thread at LJ*)5 times
(R 4 - 4 close, LJ to same place as last LJ, Ch 8,
LJ to two picots (have the picot of the green ring on top of the picot of the red chain) Ch 8,
LJ to next LJ*,)5 times,
Fasten off and sew in ends.
