Chantilly (AP) - United Airlines is now giving Washington area travelers another airline choice for service to Chicago.
United's low-fare carrier, called Ted, added two daily, non-stops between Dulles and Midway to compete with other low-fare carriers like Independence Air and AirTran.
United officials say the new service will complement the airline's existing service from O'Hare International Airport, which is United's largest hub.
United launched Ted in February 2004 to compete with low-fare carriers such as Denver-based Frontier Airlines. Ted charges lower fares on certain routes where it goes head-to-head against other discount carriers, particularly to leisure-travel markets in the Sun Belt.
