Padmasree Warrior, executive vice president and chief technology officer of the $31.3 bn Motorola Inc, is the executive sponsor in the company driving Indian strategy.

“This is a new concept and we have a spokesperson for many of the exciting and emerging markets. While being of Indian origin is not necessary for a function like this, since India is exciting anyway, it’s an advantage for me since I know a lot about the top Indian tech schools. We are connecting with the IITs , National Institutes of Technology and the Indian Institute of Science for collaborative and sponsored research programmes. We want to tap into the Indian technical talent and attract it to Motorola and grow it into the company,” says Warrior, an ex-IITan herself who is a recipient of IIT-Delhi’s distinguished alumni award for her contribution as thought and knowledge leader.
