The most astonishing geological attraction of the
Neuchâtel area is, without contest, the
immense rock cirque called the Creux-du-Van.
A nature reserve unequalled in the Jura massif,
from there one can discover to the south the
Neuchâtel lakefront and, to the north, the
uninterrupted stringing of the villages, hamlets
and farms of the Ponts-de-Martel and La Sagne
valley and even sometimes, with good weather, the
first foothills of the Vosges.
The cliffs of the Creux-du-Van are so awe-inspiring
that to adventure along the edge, one must not be
squeamish.
