patches for shdoclc.dll
There will be NO MORE patches for shdoclc.dll. However, current files will still remain here, at least for a while, and i'll recommend the patch for all versions & all languages. Top file above.
These patches will fix the bad coding in the file SHDOCLC.DLL -
responsible for the broken REF- RESH link found in MS IE 5.5 and
above.
The patch will make a backup of the file (de-fault) but you can
turn it off.
Start the appropriate *.exe and browse with "..." button to your
c:\windows\system directory, or %systemroot%\System32 and
%systemroot%\System32\Dllcache if you're running 2000/XP.
Find SHDOCLC.DLL (the only one you can see) and click "Start" button! Done! The checksum is ok so if you're running a NT based OS's - go for it! :)
note:
Windows won't let this file go if you've been online, so If you
get a file access error you can reboot your computer - and make
sure no internet related programs starts auto-matically - or patch
the dll outside the system and then copy/move it back [in DOS mode
- not a DOS box, ok?] If you're running ME you've to use your
start-disk to access DOS mode. In Win 2000/XP you really can't make
a boot disk - but there's a solution of course :) You can use
"Windows Recovery Console (WRC) tool" to overwrite a file in use.
