The Countryside Service protects and conserves the countryside heritage of landscape, wildlife & historic places, and to provide facilities and access for people to enjoy the Hampshire countryside.

It manages and maintains more than 80 countryside sites, covering over 4,450 hectares (11,000 acres), and also protects and maintains 4,585 km (2,850 miles) of footpaths, bridleways and byways covering the entire county.
