Geothermal aquaculture, the cultivation of fish, other creatures, and aquatic plants using geothermal water, is big business in parts of Idaho. People have been using the natural hot water in Idaho since 1973 for aquaculture businesses and research. Currently, there are 8 operations in Idaho that use geothermal water for aquaculture.
