Discovery Health Body Challenge 2

It isn’t easy to lose weight, and I can’t imagine it is any easier to do it in front of an audience. But six brave people dare to try on the reality series Discovery Health Body Challenge 2. Among the six contestants are a gay advertising executive named Matthew (pictured) who stands just over 5 foot 11 and weighs 223 pounds at the outset of the show and Kia, a 5-foot-9, 239-pound social worker who aspires to become a professional wrestler. To help them shed the pounds in a healthy manner, Matthew, Kia and the rest of the participants are assigned personal trainers and work with a nutritional consultant. We view their progress each episode (this six-part series was actually shot over 16 weeks) as they compete in challenges that test their fitness levels and nutritional knowledge; they also take part in regular weigh-ins. Along the way, you’ll witness setbacks and triumphs, and you may even be inspired to adopt a healthier lifestyle after you see some of the amazing transformations.
