WEISZ OVERLOOKED FOR DOCTOR WHO ASSISTANT ROLE

British beauty RACHEL WEISZ is devastated she was overlooked for the role of DOCTOR WHO's assistant in the cult sci-fi TV series' comeback.

The CONSTANTINE star always longed to play the part, filled in the current show by BILLIE PIPER, but was convinced the BBC would never revive the popular sci-fi saga.

She says, "I always dreamed I might play the role on stage or radio as I never thought they would bring it back."
