17 - 9 - 04 :

- New resolution! Now game uses 320x240 graphs as base.

- New view modes:
* 320x240 window
* 320x240 full screen
* 2Xscale (640x480 soft)

- Characters walk and attack properly. (no skiing)

- Bug fixed when you enter in a new level.

- Sor2 combo attack system. Also, you can switch between Sor2 or Sor3. (you can make the full combo only if you hit)

- All characteres ripped again using original palette and size.

- A thousand of new attacks (ok, maybe less)

- New die type:

* dead, then you only wake up
* dead, then you drop from above, hitting the enemies. (original Sor way)

- Improvements
* Up 60 fps
* It works with p2 350 mhz
* Lesser Ram required

- New animation editor. We are trying to get as close as original animations. And then, make a whole new ones.

We are thinking about porting SorR to DREAMCAST and GP32 ,
Fenix was ported to those consoles, so, could be possible to make a console port. But we need to make a final Pc version, then, see if those console can handle it.

The SoR:online forum is unfortunately alomst dead, but as long
as something's going on some will still come back!
Making a Dreamcast port sounds awesome!!
Streets of Rage is one the greatest games ever and I'm

I've been keeping track of SoR:R's progress for almost a year now. These Bombergames guys are very dedicated to the project, and the best part is, they aren't producing derivative content. Everything they're tweaking or adding makes sense within the SoR universe and theme. Some other "tribute" titles add characters from other games, or backgrounds/music that doesn't belong, generally removing the uniqueness of the original game.

With SoR:R, it's all Streets of Rage.

On that note, I hope some would-be talented voice actors can provide the developers with updated character voices.

Bugs Fixed :

- Sometimes you cannot fall to floor when hit while jumping
- Get in the back (because new changes)
- Better sound config
- If you pressed all keys at same, the character could become freeze. Now fixed.
- You cannot catch anyone by the back
- Shadows of 1 Player fixed

My first post on this forum Muchas risas Naitguolf, that's an impressive FPS (frame rate)! What system is this running on?

By the way, I'm a longtime fan of the SOR series and I found your demo today through the SOR Online forum, which I check from time to time. I posted on that forum tonight my preliminary comments on your SOR Remake.

I am impressed so far and I look forward to participating in the english discussion on this forum. I find it very commendable that you are asking for input for the development of this great remake from the SOR community. I believe this will pay off. I particularly like the fact that you seem focussed on preserving the general look and feel of the SOR series. Congratulations!

That was using bomberlink machine: a Xp 3000. So thats why are so fps. (also bear in mind, that this is using 640x480 old engine, and not using a new engine that will be double fast in 640x480, also it will able to play in 320x240)

Dont worry, it should be ok in a Dreamcast, and that machine uses a p2-400 more or less.


Well, here are the news:


20 - 10 - 04 :

- Joystick support in menus. Like Sor: A, C, Start "acept", B "cancel". You can use 1º player controls also 2º player too. Also you can use cursor keys, enter to acept and ESC to cancel.

- ALT+ ENTER do not select nothing if you make it while menu.

- Up 20% in 1-plane scroll.

- Death like sor. You fall from above, hiting all enemies (not damaging).

* Characteres :
- Bug fixed: you fall inmediatly when you are hit while upper limits of the screen.

- Final and full shadows in Axel , Blaze , Max , Skate , Zan.

- When you move and you hit, you dont move. Like sor.

- Wait times when we hit an enemie.

- Better anims, because the anim (the graph) is checked. So no ugly inter-animations.

- Fixed some items bugs and collision system.

That looks amazing....

If you play 4 player though, there have to be a lot of enemies or it will be too easy.

Will this game have network play or play over internet? Because it will be hard with 4 people on one PC.
