Press Releases: Meet Paul Nugent, S2 Division Editor

The S-CARS.ORG Team

Having entered the world in 1966, it meant that I was destined to be one of those spotty teenagers that drooled over car magazines when the fabulous UR-quattro was launched. How we all wished we could drive one -before we could legally drive anything! It was such a thrill to see one on the road, and it was especially exciting to watch them pound down a special stage in 'full duck' rally trim... I still remember the long queues that patiently waited their turn to just sit in 'The quattro' at the Belfast Motor Showin 1982. It was such a desireable machine that was destined to become an icon of the eighties and an all-time classic car that changed the industry. Precious few had the money to buy one, such was the prestige price tag at the time. I was hooked on the quattro from an early age, but it was to be many years before I actually had my own :-)

My first Audi was actually a 1987 Coupe GT that I bought in 1991 - about two years after succesfully serving my punishment as an Electronic Systems Engineering student. Sure it wasn't a flared-arch UR, but it did have a five cylinder engine which produced that uniquely dissonant 5-beat exhaust note. It almost had the looks of the UR, the insurance was affordable and it had (and still has to this day) gorgeous tornado red paintwork. The 2226cc KV engine ensured that it was plenty fast enough
without the insurance and maintenance worries of its turbocharged sister...

The S-CARS.ORG Team Frank Amoroso

Frank Amoroso, is a Banker / Financier by profession, providing debt financing products and services to software and Internet companies in Colorado's Front Range. He is first and foremost an automotive enthusiast, with a penchant for Europe's finest. He was captivated with the UrS4 the first time he read about it and has become more enamored ever since. He has tried many different mods on his '93 S4 and he prefers to independently verify manufacturers' performance improvement claims. Frank lives in "quattro country," Boulder, Colorado, with his wife Rebecca, son Tommy and his dog Tilly. Frank enjoys taking the long way home with his urS4. The race car that he would most like to drive on the street is the 1998 Le Mans winning 911 GT1, with full race paint scheme, although an Audi R8R would work just as nicely.

Frank is the man who practically built the FAQ for the 92-96 S4/S6 model cars.  He is also "The Don" of the Colorado S-Car Mafia.  The group's sheer size and number of true S-Car die hards earned them the nickname... to my knowledge they have no actual mob ties.  ;-)

The S-CARS.ORG Team

Darin NederhoffGreetings, I'm Darin Nederhoff and I am the founder of S-CARS.ORG. The site was originally created back in May of 1998 because I was an Audi S-Car enthusiast and thought the web would benefit from a centralized gathering place of other owners.  As it turned out, I was right!  The site has been a success and continues to expand.  (We've already outgrown a few servers, and I suspect it might happen again!)

Our mission here at S-CARS.ORG is to strengthen the S-Car community by providing a knowledge base of owners and enthusiasts from around the globe.  We offer the web's best S-CAR Classified listing as well as a number of questions and answers.  It is our goal to keep the site clean and logically organized while bringing you interesting content without all the "noise" associated with some sites.

Thank you for visiting... enjoy!
