The competition is open to both Thylacon members and non-members and
will be judged by Marianne de Pierres and her editor at Orbit, Darren
Your task is to write a fiction
of no more than 600 words, taking Parrish out of her world, and placing

working as a secretary she gets harassed by her boss, etc. It may be
as humorous or serious as you like.
Winners of the Con-members

BISHOP COMING TO THYLACON
Thylacon is delighted that
our International Guest of Honour is bestselling US fantasy author
Anne Bishop. Anne joins Australian Guest
of Honour Marianne de Pierres and Fan Guest
of Honour Merv Binns.
THYLACON MOVED TO
Thylacon 2005 has moved hotels. Our new
site, Wrest Point, is a fabulous convention
centre right on the waterfront of Hobart. The complex is self-contained
with various cafes, bars and restaurants on site to suit a variety of
budgets. The Busy Bee buses run every 30 minutes from outside the hotel
into Sandy Bay & the city centre, which enables quick trips back and
forth for shopping, etc.
The change was necessary because the new owner of our previous venue
decided to remodel the convention space during June next year. We apologise
for any inconvenience this move may have on our members.
We look forward to seeing you in Hobart next year. Thylacon
memberships are still available at $120
attending, and $35 supporting. Family rates also available on request.
