|Here are instructions for making your own old fashioned wool soaker out of a recycled sweater. Choose a sweater that feels soft and is made of 100% wool. Lambs wool is a great choice! Wash and dry your sweater in HOT water to shrink it up as much as possible.
cut the sweater open at the side seams and remove the sleeves so you just have one panel and cut it into this triangle shape. You will use the waistband of the sweater for the waist of the soaker, only upside down!
Next, sew the waist band of the sweater as shown.
then, bring your new seam to the center & bring the point of the triangle up to meet the end of your stitching. Sew each side 3 inches as shown.
Now, use the cuffs of your sweater to make leg cuffs. Stitch w/ right sides together
Turn your cover to the right side
Fold over the leg cuffs and you're done!
And the soaker on the cutest baby in the world (only 9 days old :o)!
