This site functions as a clearinghouse for all things Evasion. Everything but the writing. I've turned down several offers to put Evasion material online -- even my own offer. Form defines content, context the same - two strikes against the internet, a format making demands on the reader I don't consent to: Holding them indoors and off the streets, glassy-eyed and faraway from where they'd like to be at that moment. Which is the opposite of what I'd have for the world. If you can't read it by Maglight under the stairs at the bottom of the Super 8 Motel stairwell in Dubuque, it's not Evasion.

I need a break.

I'll be speaking at Slutfest 2005, Madison WI April 9th and 10th. www.madisonslutfest.com

The next Evasion volume is moving fast towards becoming world's longest book. 100,000 words and growing. First Evasion was 88, "average novel" said to be 50.

Last month's vague statement on the status of Evasion Book II is included below.

See you in Madison.

"Here's the score: Evasion Book II is coming. Doubt doubt it. The last "i" is dotted on the first draft, which sits under lock and key in addition to two photocopies of the manuscript in two locations out of state. It's coming. The river of often flattering, occasionally disempowering questions of "When's the book coming? You said Fall..." can now be quieted. The answer is: when I have a publisher, when it's flawless. After dinosaurs walked the earth, before the Earth First! Journal tops their most recent back-cover shot. Distractions right now are many. Like the raging Stanford University party we snuck into Saturday. That was a crazy night. But the storm, dear reader, the storm is coming...."
