9/11 and the mob

By Judi McLeod & David Hawkins
Monday, July 11, 2005

Toronto-- In the true life stranger than fiction category, Cantor Fitzgerald Securities and its subsidiary eSpeed network are one for the books.

Cantor Fitzgerald’s New York office, on the 101st-105th floors of One World Trade Center, lost 685 employees in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks–more than any other employer. Its e-Speed electronic bond-trading network lost 125 souls.

Happily for the disciples of "Kyoto Mo" (Canadian Maurice Strong), who argues that global climate change is driven by anthropogenic gases emitted by inhabitants of the Anglosphere, a six-member eSpeed carbon-credit trading team escaped death. Their annual one-day fishing trip had to be cancelled about 8 a.m. on the fateful morning of September 11, due to alleged bad weather over the Atlantic. Can anyone confirm the weather? New York looked pretty sunny.

Hearing that the Twin Towers had been hit, the six lucky fishers hightailed it to New Jersey, to what Joseph Noviello, executive vice president said of Rochelle Park, N.J., "where we had duplicates of everything that was destroyed at our offices in the world Trade Center."

Not only did the six execs happen to have a WTC duplicate to turn to, but by napping on the floor, including one who grabbed shuteye by resting his head on an overturned coffee cup, they got an electronic trading operation up and running within two days of the tragic events. (www.usatoday.com/money/covers/2001-11-12-bcovmon.htm).

Now get this. The eSpeed new, New Jersey office provided electronic trading services in derivatives and commodities using a software package called TreasuryConnect, which had been bought from an Enron subsidiary and licenced on August 1, 2001 to a subsidiary of Saddam’s favourite bank, the infamous Global Custodian and UN oil-for-food broker, BNP Paribas.

By September 11, 2001, BNP Paribas had a network of about 70 global trade centers operating 24/7 around the world. The only real competition to BNP Paribas’s global ambitions a leader of the UN’s Global Compact was the computer network and the expert staff of Canton Fitzgerald and eSpeed in One world Trade Center.

By hitting the 89th floor of One World Trade Center, al-Qaeda’s first-time pilot hijacker of American Airlines Flight 11, managed to miss the Buttonwood Global Custodians’ offices on the 79th floor below, while killing all of their Cantor-eSpeed competitors on the 101st floor and above.

Two days later, Kyoto Mo’s dream of the Global Custodians in control of a global trade in the global commons, was born in New Jersey, under a still sky. Still full, we presume, of the 9/11 dust of death.

Almost four years later, this bizarre birth of the Cantor-eSpeed electronic trading operation seems to have morphed itself into Kyoto Mo’s "Global Hub for Carbon Commerce". (http://www.co2e.com).

Our `Where are they now?’ account of Cantor Fitzgerald/eSpeed is founded on fact not fiction, and how they arrived has to be the news story of all time missed by the mainline media. Fast forwarding to late-May 2005, six executives of Cantor Fitzgerald were among 36 arrested in gambling raids on the illegal Safe Deposit Sports gambling ring, in New York.

"The alleged ringleader of the gambling ring and owner of Safe Deposit Sports was apparently one Christopher Bruno, 34, of Bethpage, L.I., who it was claimed was caught on an F.B.I. tape bragging that he was `…the Osama bin Laden of gambling.’ His brother, an employee of the Cantor Fitzgerald stock broking firm was also indicted for allegedly taking bets along with five other executives of that company." (Online Gaming News, May 20, 2005).

"Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown and Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly, announced the indictment of 36 individuals on charges of operating an illegal gambling ring, apparently with organized crime connections. The ring handled illegal wagers on horse racing, professional baseball and football and other sporting events totaling a staggering $360-million over two years.

"The indictment also alleges that the ring used a non-traditional "wire-room" in the form of an off-shore, internet-based gambling service used by bettors and runners to actually place their wagers. It is alleged that the ring used the off-shore wire room to maintain numerous runners’ and bettors’ gambling accounts through the Internet website in an effort to evade law enforcement detection through traditional methods."

According to the New York Daily Times, one of the ball players of the New York Mets may be a witness in the murder trial in Canada of Vito Rizzuto of Montreal. (also known as the "John Gotti of Montreal" )

That’s where some of the media-portrayed heroes of the terrorist attack spared Cantor Fitzgerald/eSpeed gang are now.

Climbing up in the murky world of illicit gambling with the same breakneck speed they came back from the adversity of their colleagues of the WTC’s 101st-105 floors, this is their story.

Cantor Fitzgerald’s company in London introduced the first hand-held device that allows for wireless gambling in casinos in Britain. Cantor G&W (Nevada), L.P. (Cantor) is an affiliate of Cantor Fitzgerald L.P., a global financial services holding company, and Cantor Index Limited, a licensed bookmaker in the United Kingdom and a leading financial and sports company that offers real-time mission-critical transactions over the telephone, online and via its groundbreaking, mobile application. In the UK you can vote on things like Presidential elections in the USA–something that could be impacted by 21st century terror or other events that put into motion to win a bet/

In other words, Cantor Fitzgerald is into gambling the same way Kellogg’s is into Cornflakes.

Cantor Fitzgerald needs software and gets it from Aegis. If you click on www.aegisoft.com, you will discover that this company does not provide any normal way for anyone to contact them. Odd for the website of a standard normal company. Listed as a client is Daiwa a bank, kicked out of the U.S. for fraud. It’s rare for any bank to be tossed out of a country. Another listed client is www.intrade.com. (In Trade LLC), which takes bets on things like "Will the U.S.A. strike Syria (or five other terrorist sponsor nations) by June 30, 2005?

Security Industry News notes in a brief story that Cantor Fitzgerald celebrated the passage of a measure its lobbyists drafted for the Nevada state legislature allowing the WiFi based mobile gaming devices in state casinos. Cantor’s subsidiary eSpeed has a deal with Research in Motion to put bond trades on Blackberry devices, etc.

So who where the Nevada lobbyists? Bob Faiss of Lionel Sawyer & Collins law firm, the most powerful in the state. Who else works at the firm? The four sons of Harry Reid. Yes, that Harry Reid, the same one who’s The Senate of the U.S.A. Minority leader--and the highest ranking member of the Democrat Party in the US at the present time. (www.lasvegasmercury.com/2003/MERC-June-26-Thu-2003/21559697.html). See Quick and Dirty: A notebook of news and politics. Reid Country.

The bill passed the State Legislature in May and became Assembly Bill 471. There was only one vote against it from State Senator Maggie Carlton, a former waitress. An expert on gaming issues, Professor William Thompson of UNLV said that the sheer rapidity of the bill’s passage coupled with no debate was "strange" and suggested that "things are not in the open." (www.businesspress.com/articles/2005/06/06/news/news01.txt). David McKee wrote the article, on June 6, 2005.

In December 2004, there were 14 online gambling companies licensed in the notorious money-laundering haven of Alderney in the English Channel islands, and Cantor Casino was one of them.

A redux conclusion: It is even possible that this is not mob related?

If this is mob, did the mob know of the impending attack on 9/11? The terrorist-piloted plane hit Cantor Fitzgerald directly–one floor below where they were located. This would be the worst possible spot because the flames would go up and engulf everything. Could this really be only sheer coincidence? No suicide jockey flying a plane for the first time coincidentally hit right where the mob knew they would hit.

What are the odds of a six-member executive team surviving the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center while almost 800 of their employees burned or jumped 103 stories to their death?

The plane had to be aimed very carefully which implies GPS and targeting not a nut flying for the first time.

Do you buy the story that they found Mohammed Atta’s suicide note and luggage, including a will but not two black boxes?

Canada Free Press did.

Not anymore.
