PRESENCES
by William Butler Yeats [1865-1939]
The Wild Swans at Coole - 1919

This night has been so strange that it seemed
As if the hair stood up on my head.
From going-down of the sun I have dreamed
That women laughing, or timid or wild,
In rustle of lace or silken stuff,
Climbed up my creaking stair. They had read
All I had rhymed of that monstrous thing
Returned and yet unrequited love.
They stood in the door and stood between
My great wood lectern and the fire
Till I could hear their hearts beating:
One is a harlot, and one a child
That never looked upon man with desire,
And one, it may be, a queen.

Thank You To:

The Lady

Failte and Greetings,

The content of this domain is multi-faceted, encompassing topics from Celtic and Faery Studies to DeDanaan.com's version of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Multiverse, from the disclaimers of "There Is No Elven Cabal" to a personal and poignant journey through my personal weblog. And there's poetry, too. In total, I am told that the content of this domain is approximately 8 to 10 hours in reading length, and the content is increasing every day. The concept of this website began back in 1997 with Coolavin's Forest hosted at AOL. DeDanaan.com first began in the summer of 1998, although certainly not with as much or as varied content as what we have today. The following is just a brief summary of the main sections of this domain. Undoubtedly, the deeper you drill, the more content you'll find.

Celtic & Faery Studies is, as the name implies, a place to find articles, links, and related content having to do with Celtic & Faery Studies. It is the main part of the domain. It consists of an online community forum (say hello when you get there), the HHGTTM, a links and content management system which enables registered users to help grow the site by submitting content, a calendar, and numerous other surprising and amazing things. This part of the site requires registration and cookies must be enabled in your browser. Hopefully, you're using a browser that meets web standards. Of course, you can always get a BETTER browser.

dev.demesnes.net weblog contains information relating to this and the other domains I administer. It is probably of interest to Webmasters, Bloggers, and others involved in Web site creation. Follow along as I go through the trials and tribulations of web development. Keep up to date on what is happening each day.

Dirty Little Secrets is a collection of my creative efforts as a writer. It contains poetry, short stories, and fiction. Meet Eve Quinlan, aka "The Evil Queen," a notoriously vicious broker/investor in a fictional stock market, among other characters.

The Kleek of Powah is a tongue-in-cheek teasing satire of online community clique-ishness. It was donated to this domain by an anonymous donor. I've hosted it here ever since.

Silent Lucidity is my main blog, where I write about current events, politics, my life, commentary on the news, and various other things. It's updated on a fairly regular basis, and if you're wondering what I'm thinking right now, this is the place to find out.

There Is No Elven Cabal grew out of the original "Kleek of Powah" website, expanding on and enriching the satire. I think the Rants are my favorite part. This, too, was donated to this domain by an anonymous donor, so as to have both the sites in one central location.

In addition to all of the above, I am also currently at work building a new domain online at Demesnes.net which will house many of the personal sites I have been hosting here at DeDanaan.com. This involves splitting off some content from this domain, as well as moving both of these domains to a new webhost at TextDrive.com. The additional space and services this move will provide will, I think, be a step in the right direction for the future of DeDanaan.com.
