RJCC Afternoon Group Grands Prix:Prize winners for the 2004-05 season: Rapidplay GP: 1st Daniel Marder 2nd Marcus Gosling 3rd Paul Anstiss; Blitz GP: 1st Gideon Gray 2nd= Gaston Alegre, Luke Roe-Bowers. Please collect your prizes!!

60th Richmond Rapidplay (3 July):We celebrated our 60th Rapidplay with one of our largest ever entries - 137 players of all ages and strengths, from Grandmasters to young beginners, took part in this event. Li Wu won the Open section and Richmond prizewinners included Thilagini Anandajeyarajah, Joshua Pineda, Louis Thrumble and William Rule. See the full results here.

Richmond Junior Championships (26 June):Whitton School proved an excellent new venue for our annual championships, which attracted 104 players. Valentin Gaudeau took the honours in the top section. Find out more here.

EPSCA U11 Final (14 May): Richmond finished 2nd= (3rd on tie-break) behind Wey Valley and Sussex - another excellent result for our team. More details are available on our results page.

59th Richmond Rapidplay (8 May): 105 players took part in this event, with IM Graeme Buckley scoring 100% in the Open. RJCC prizewinners included Rahil Davda, James Kerr and Milo Thrumble. Click here for full results.

EPSCA U9 Final (23 April): Richmond scored an excellent 3rd place close behind Sussex and Wey Valley in the EPSCA U9 Final. You'll find a report and more details here.

COMING SOON

If you are interested in joining Richmond Junior Chess Club you can just turn up any Saturday. You can email Richard James to let us know you're coming or if you require any further information.

Richmond Junior Chess Sweatshirts and T-shirts are currently on sale at the Club - £7.50 for sweatshirts and £5 for T-shirts. Wear one at your next tournament and you'll add an extra point to your score!!

Intermediate Group players - ALL games in this group start with 1. e2-e4 e7-e5 (both players move their King's Pawns two squares). Visit chessKIDS academy NOW for lessons on the major openings starting with these moves - you'll find them in Classes 6, 7 and 8 of the Kids' Zone. If you don't know about Scholar's Mate, or are not confident about how to stop it you'll find lessons on this in Class 4.

THE MASTER GROUP (open to all U18s graded 100+) is now running on selected Saturdays from 11.30 to 5.30. For more information email Scott Kenyon.
