Iliofemoral Ligament
The iliofemoral ligament reinforces the fibrous capsule anteriorly. It is Y-shaped and attaches to the anterior inferior iliac spine and acetabular rim proximally, and the intertrochanteric line distally. With extension, the ligament screws the femoral head into the acetabulum ("close-packed" position).
