the
latest... February 5 2002!
De
Rigueurmortis debuted in the National ARIA chart at #24
one week after it's release. That same week the album debuted at #3 on the
Alternative ARIA chart. Speaking on JJJ, Humphrey B. Flaubert predicted that
the following week his album would plummet out of the top 40 like a stone.
Unfortunately, he was correct.
De Rigueurmortis did however remain on the Alternative chart for a number
of weeks, berfore finally dropping out in early December.
The radio-only single If You're Not Famous At Fourteen, You're Finished
enjoyed a lengthy stay on JJJ's Net50, debuted at number #34 and making it
into the top 20 a few weeks later.
The Current single is Honk If You Love Fred Durst. Click here
to read the press release. TISM are fairly sure there will be another
single lifted from the album this year, and that a national tour will occur
in the coming months.

Release
day is fast approaching! Look for the album in a 2cd cover featuring the "connoisseur's
edition" artwork which slips in front of the regular cover, not unlike
Machiavelli. The album is packed with
secret diatribes from Ron, special guests, and
an intermission. With similarities to both Truckin'
Songs and Dogma, it's almost
like every past TISM album chucked into a blender. Or as Humphrey would
have it, "Ibiza, after the yobs have turned up and started fights."
you can go here for the official
lyrics to the album.. but unofficially, you'll also hear snippets from
Fielding At Long On, Ex Malcolm X, and You're A Long Way
From Home, among others..

More
artwork has been revealed on this very site and it's looking very swanky indeed.
TISM, in true epic form, have squeezed in extra
bits all over their new album, completely defying the revealed tracklist
of 14 new songs. They've achieved the "sprawling narrative of [earlier
TISM album] Hot Dogma" which Humphrey alluded to some months
ago. You can click here to get the band's track
by track guide to De RigueurMortis.
If you're at a store trying to order the album,

De RigueurMortis artwork revealed.. if you haven't seen it yet,
click on the news section to see a sneak preview
of the album artwork. The
Connoisseur's Edition, as is now cemented in
stone, includes the 43 minute rock opera as mentioned below.
Also rumours of Ricky Ponting being a
future b-side sprung up on the TISM mailing list.. we'll keep you informed.
September 2001
De
RigueurMortis features, among other things, a string section, a
children's school choir, sampled speech from Britney Spears, and a spoken
word peice featuring Derryn Hinch. It's now confirmed that 2
Pot Screama will be the limited bonus disc. the complete tracklisting
is as follows:
If You're Not Famous At Fourteen, You're Finished
Five Yards
Ten Points For A Razor Scooter
Thou Shalt Not Britney Spear
Would The Last Person To Leave Please Turn Out The Enlightenment?
Schoolies Week
Come Back DJ, You're Record Is Scratched
Boot Party
Channel Turd
Fatboy Slim Dusty
Honk If You Love Fred Durst
X-Treme Sports Can Kiss My Arse
Fourteen Years In Rowville
BFW
Apparently there's an intermission in there somewhere, too. Some of the other
songs recorded include Tennis Dad, You
Can't Out Drink Ricky Ponting, and It
Ain't No Good Without The Money Shot. Fatboy Slim Dusty was
originally known as Techno Is Crap, BFW
was Big Fucking Woopie, and Five
Yards was You're Only Five Yards From A Fuckwit.

August 2001
TISM's
new album DeRigueurMortis is released
on October 29th 2001, on FestivalMushroom
Records. TISM signed to the label official on August 16th. There are
plans to include a 46minute bonus disc with initial
copies. The first single has still not been named, but will be a radio-only
release. TISM have revealed their new logo
- but claim this is not the album's artwork.
July
2001
TISM
have completed 'extra bits' and minor adjustments to the new album. It's now
officially 'in the can.' They are also rushing to complete their opus b-side,
2 Pot Screama. TISM
hope it will be the most stupidly ambitious b-side in the history of popular
music.
The band revealed on JJJ that they've done a song for the album called 14
Years In Roville.
June
2001
TISM completed mixing
on June 6th, at Sing Sing South (formerly Platinum
Studios) with Paul McKercher, who has worked
with shitloads of good Aussie rock bands. This will be followed by a week
of post production at Sing Sing Richmond, with
Spiderbait producer Phil McKellor. Interestingly,
TISM have also worked with Henri Grawe,
an engineer who does a lot of musical scores, and worked on ABC's Seachange
series! He's described the record as "TISM's Sergeant Pepper's"
- his pay was docked accordingly. Further tracks have been recorded with John
Lindrea, possibly for b-sides etc.
January/February
2001
TISM
have decided to hold out for a more established Aussie producer - a lot of
whom are keen to work on TISM projects, for some strange reason. Anyway,
this means that mixing hasn't taken place yet, but instead the band wrote
8 new songs, two of which are considered good
enough to be singles! Seems that TISM have demoed somewhere around
40 songs since wanker.com.. not that we've heard any.
December
2000
Mixing is going to continue
into January, probably with some young-new-up-and-coming-next-big-thing-whizz-bang
Aussie producer. Yep, that means no album or single yet. "We have of
course made dirty rotten liars of ourselves", say TISM, "but
maybe we'll look back on this as 'the recession we had to have' or something."
Incidentely, TISM concede that they are "quite clearly a pack
of cunts." TISM HQ have also revealed that one of the new tracks
is being reviewed by legal people, and will most likely not be released, a-la
Russia. Humphrey has described the album's
sound as "the Venga Boys driving over a cliff", and stated that
the band may well toss off a couple of extra new tracks in the new year. Mixing
will continue into January with TISM considering a number of producers
- maybe they include blokes like Lachlan Magoo
and Lawrrence Maddy? We'll let you know.
Nobember
2000
TISM say they are a edging towards a selection for lead single, with
lyrics, not music, the current sticking point...
October
2000
The
basic recording for TISM's new album was done between August
and October 12th,
2000 in Carnegie, Victoria. It has taken TISM 3 attempts to come up
with a bunch of songs they feel are good enough to warrant professional recording
of. Rough mixing of the current 16 tracks was
completed by late October of 2000.
