The Oglala Sioux Tribe (OST), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District (CENWO), the U.S. Air Force, Ellsworth Air Force Base (EAFB), and the National Park Service (NPS) have created a partnership known as the Badlands Bombing Range (BBR) Team.  The Corps of Engineers, with the cooperation of the Team Members,  is conducting investigations to determine the presence of contaminants in soil and groundwater resulting from past DoD operations at the former BBR.  Ellsworth Air Force Base and the Corps of Engineers, with the assistance of the Huntsville Center for Explosive Ordnance,  is surveying various areas of the former bombing range in preparation of unexploded ordnance removal.
