STATE LEGISLATURE IN FULL SWING!
HOMOSEXUAL BILLS SET FOR HEARINGS!
TVC ANNOUNCES APRIL 3rd PASTORS & LEADERS BRIEFING
Dear TVC Friends:
The state legislature is in full swing. Friday, February 21st, is the last day for bills to be introduced by legislators. Those bills already introduced, some from December, are being scheduled for hearings.
The radical homosexual lobby and homosexual legislators are waging an all-out assault on marriage and they want to force businesses to hire transsexuals and require them to offer homosexual benefits to their workers if they are to do business with the state.
The five openly homosexual members of the legislature have formed the so-called Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Caucus; Assembly members Christine Kehoe, Jackie Goldberg, Mark Leno, John Laird and State Senator Sheila Kuehl.
And to flaunt their newly created caucus, they held a press conference on January 28th to announce the introduction of three legislative pieces to promote the homosexual agenda, AB 205, AB 17, and AB 196. There and a bill concerning foster homes.
AB 205 (by Goldberg-D) -- Domestic Partnerships to be the same as Marriage!!!!!.
You may remember during the 2001 legislative session Assemblyman Paul Koretz pushed AB 1338-the Homosexual Marriage/Civil Union Bill making same-sex civil unions the exact equivalent to marriage. After much public pressure against such a bill, Koretz dropped the bill lacking support.
Realizing their failure with AB 1338, they are not demanding civil unions for same-sex relationships outright. Instead, AB 205 would strip the sanctity of marriage by granting all of its benefits to homosexual domestic partnerships.
You see, thanks to liberals in the legislature, the "domestic partnership" registry was signed into law in 1994. This allowed same-sex couples to file as domestic partners and receive a handful of rights that only married couples had received. Last year, domestic partners were additionally granted over a dozen more marriage rights. The homosexuals are not content!!! They want more!!!
AB 205 would require that ALL the rights and benefits that only a man and woman share through marriage be given to homosexual couples through domestic partnerships! Marriage as we know it today would be no longer!!
The bill would even force California to recognize any other similar homosexual union performed in another state, like in Vermont homosexual civil unions are performed, and give them all marriage rights!
The homosexual assault doesn't stop there.
AB 17-(by Kehoe-D) Forcing California Businesses to offer marriage benefits to homosexual partners
-- Another previously failed bill dealt with forcing any business that wishes to contract with the state to offer benefits to homosexual employees and their partners. Those businesses that refuse to do so would be prohibited from doing business with the state.
Assemblywoman Kehoe introduced this idea during the last legislative session. It too was dropped due to a lack of support and public outcry. But she has brought this bill back to life with AB 17.
Not only does this bill further grant homosexuality status in the law, it encroaches upon the beliefs and morals of business owners who object to homosexual relationships.
And just when you thought it couldn't get worse.
AB 196 (by Leno-D) - Forces Businesses to hire Transsexuals
The attempts to force businesses to hire transsexuals has also been revived. Assemblyman Mark Leno has introduced AB 196, which is just like AB 2142 that was introduced in 2000. Leno's bill would prohibit businesses from refusing to hire transsexual individuals and allow employees "to appear or dress consistently with their gender identity."
With such language in the bill, businesses would be forced to hire men who perceive themselves as women and dress in women's clothing. While the bill rightly excludes these provisions from non-profit groups like churches, it would apply to Christian hospitals, bookstores and other profitable Christian entities. Those businesses that refuse to hire such people would be fined $150,000.
YOUR HELP IS NEEDED WITHOUT DELAY!
AB 17 & AB 205 ARE SET TO BE HEARD IN THE ASSEMBLY JUDICIARY COMMITTEE ON MARCH 4th.
