New 2005 Prohibited List (Prohibited Substances and Methods)

The new 2006 Prohibited List is now available.

The 2006 Prohibited List will come into effect on 1st January 2006.

 

DOPING OFFENCE
Alexander Gaidukov (Russia)

On 7 May 2005, the water polo player Alexander Gaidukov (RUS) was tested positive to the substance Carphedon (Class S6. Stimulants) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the Russian Water Polo Championships.

The Water Polo Federation of Russia imposed a sanction of one (1) year’s suspension on the competitor.

 

DOPING OFFENCE
Oleg Shteinikov (Kazakhstan)

On 13 April 2005, the swimmer Mr. Oleg Shteinikov (KAZ) was tested positive to the substance Nandrolone (Class S1. Anabolic Agents) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the 1st Islamic Solidarity Games in Saudi Arabia.

The Swimming Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan imposed a sanction of two (2) years’ suspension on the competitor.

 

DOPING OFFENCE
Daniel Pereira (Portugal)

On 19 March 2005, the swimmer Mr. Daniel Pereira (POR) was tested positive to the substance Stanozolol (Class S1. Anabolic Agents) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the 9° Campeonato Juniores e Seniores.

The Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Swimming Federation imposed a sanction of two (2) years’ suspension on the competitor in accordance with the FINA Rules.

 

FINA DOPING PANEL DECISION
Danilo Carrega (Brazil)
Lausanne (SUI), 7 July 2005 - The FINA Doping Panel has decided that Mr. Danilo Carrega (BRA) shall be ineligible for two (2) years after a positive doping control result for the substance Stanozolol (Class S 1.1.a Anabolic Androgenic Steroids). The doping control test has been conducted as part of the FINA unannounced out-of-competition testing programme on 9 March 2005 in Santos, Brazil.

FINA DOPING PANEL DECISION
Luis Rojas Carpena (Venezuela)
Lausanne (SUI), 7 July 2005 - The FINA Doping Panel has decided that Mr. Luis Rojas Carpena (VEN) shall be ineligible for one (1) year after three consecutive missed tests as part of the FINA unannounced out-of-competition testing programme.

Romain Locher (France)
On 2 April 2005, the water polo player Romain Locher (FRA) was tested positive to the substance THC (Class S.8 Cannabinoids) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the French Water Polo Championships.

The Disciplinary Board of the Fédération Française de Natation imposed a sanction of six (6) months’ suspension (with 3 months in probation) on Mr. Locher.

 

DOPING OFFENCE
Simos Loukas (Greece)
On 23 April 2005, the water polo player Simos Loukas (GRE) was tested positive to the substance Methylphenidate (Class S.6 Stimulants) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the Hellenic Water Polo Championships.

The Disciplinary Board of the Hellenic Swimming Federation imposed a sanction of two (2) years’ suspension on Mr. Loukas.

Martha Matsa (Greece)
On 2 June 2005, the swimmer Martha Matsa (GRE) was tested positive to the substance Stanozolol (Class S.1 Anabolic Agents) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the Hellenic unannounced out-of-competition testing programme.

The Disciplinary Board of the Hellenic Swimming Federation imposed a sanction of two (2) years’ suspension on Ms. Matsa.

 

FINA DOPING PANEL DECISION
Gary Hunt (GBR)

Lausanne (SUI), 26 June 2005 - The FINA Doping Panel has decided to give to Mr. Gary Hunt (Great Britain) a Warning and a Reprimand after a positive doping control result for the substance tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The doping control test was conducted as part of the FINA Diving Grand Prix event held in Rostock (GER) on 6 March 2005.

No period of ineligibility from future competitions shall be imposed on the diver.

Ana Rodrigues (Portugal)

On 11 July 2004, the water polo player Ana Rodrigues (POR) was tested positive to the substance Canrenone (Masking Agents) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the Portuguese Cup Finals.

The Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Swimming Federation imposed a sanction of two (2) years’ suspension on the competitor in accordance with the FINA Rules.

 

FINA DOPING PANEL DECISION
Andrey Oleynik (Ukraine)

Lausanne (SUI), 27 May 2005 - The FINA Doping Panel has decided that Mr. Andrey Oleynik (UKR) shall be given a Warning and a Reprimand after a positive doping control result for the substance Cannabis (Class S 8. Cannabinoids). The doping control test has been conducted as part of the FINA Swimming World Cup on 26 January 2005 in Moscow, Russia.

DOPING OFFENCE
Laura Azevedo (Brazil)

Lausanne (SUI), 27 May 2005 - The FINA Doping Panel has decided that Ms. Laura Dutra de Abreu Mancini de Azevedo (BRA) shall be ineligible for lifetime for refusing to submit to sample collection on 6 June 2004.

Mr. Laura Azevedo’s suspension started on 21st April 2005.

Ms. Azevedo was previously suspended for two (2) years, from 1st May 2003, after a positive doping control result for the substances Stanozolol, Nortestosterone and Methyltestosterone (Class S 1.1.a Anabolic Androgenic Steroids). This sanction was confirmed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on 15 January 2004.

Yann Lejuste (France)
On 12 March 2005, the water polo player Yann Lejuste (FRA) was tested positive to the substance THC (Cannabinoids) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the French Water Polo Championships.

The Disciplinary Board of the Fédération Française de Natation imposed a sanction of six (6) months’ suspension (with 3 months in probation) on the competitor in accordance with the FINA Rule DC 10.3.

 

DOPING OFFENCE
Emilio Pagani (Italy)
On 15 January 2005, the water polo player Emilio Pagani (ITA) was tested positive to the substance THC (Cannabinoids) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the Italian Water Polo Championships.

The Disciplinary Board of the Federazione Italiana Nuoto imposed a sanction of six (6) months’ suspension on the competitor in accordance with the FINA Rule DC 10.3.

 

DOPING OFFENCE
Jeremy Serreau (France)
On 11 December 2004, the water polo player Jérémy Serreau (FRA) was tested positive to the substances Testosterone and Epitestosterone following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the French Water Polo Championships.

The Disciplinary Board of the Fédération Française de Natation imposed a sanction of two (2) years’ suspension (plus one year in probation) on the competitor in accordance with the FINA Rule DC 10.2.
