THE LATEST NEWS W D 2 X S HFCC ASSIGNS CALL LETTERS TO ARRL 600 METER EXPERIMENTAL GROUP(on 22 June 2005) Saturday, July 23, 2005 - QST - I have had many requests from visitors asking to be put on an email list so they may stay up to date on happenings regarding this project and operation on 600 meters in general. To accommodate those of you wishing to join a list, Kenneth Gordon, W7EKB/WC2XSR, has offered his 600 Meter reflector for us to use. His list is composed of the members of the original Six-Hundred Meter Research Group (SHMRG) and others who are interested in the future of 600 Meters for possible Amateur Radio use. To join Ken's SHMRG reflector, simply post a message to: majordomo@piobaire.mines.uidaho.edu and write ONLY the words: subscribe SHMRG in the BODY of the message. All the latest information about both Ken's SHMRG project and the ARRL 600 Meter project will be posted on this web site and on Ken's reflector. Monday, July 18, 2005 - The Experimental Group members are patiently awaiting further word from the FCC regarding the status of the Experimental License Application for WD2XSH. As previously mentioned, this waiting period is completely normal, and is necessary to ensure that no problems to other FCC licensees would be caused by the issuance of the experimental license to the Group. As soon as any new or updated information about the license application becomes available, it will be posted on this web site. Reception reports of the transmissions made by Group participants are requested. You do not have to be a member of this group to send us a reception report. Please use the GUESTBOOK link at the left side of this web page to enter your reports or comments about this web site. More information as it becomes available, so stay tuned - to 600 Meters, of course! Click HERE to go to the News Archives for earlier news about this project If you have anything to contribute - news, construction articles, data files, interesting links or whatever - please email w5jgv at w5jgv dot com.
