Otero stated that the SFICC will work with international trade organizations such as the bi-national chambers to promote their organizations and events. Otero said, “We are here to foster greater networking and commerce among international business organizations.”
A native of Colombia, Otero currently serves as president of Trust House Mortgage, Inc., and is the co-founder of the American Chamber of Christians in Business and the Miami Christian Chamber of Commerce. He is also chairman for Global Development of the Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and board member of the Florida Foreign Trade Association.
The SFICC is planning a series of events in association with organizations such as the Florida Foreign Trade Association and the Puerto Rican / Hispanic Chamber of Broward County, including seminars and workshops on international trade. Topics will include how to reach the Latin American market in the U.S. and abroad. Member benefits include an interactive Web portal, printed resource guides, newsletters, e-mail bulletins, and foreign trade missions.
With media partners like In Focus Magazine, we will be reaching out to South Florida International Business Leaders with timely and useful international news, features and events.
As part of the SFICC community service initiatives, we have selected Hispanic Unity of Florida as the primary charity of choice for the SFICC.
The SFICC will detail its key initiatives at the South Florida Business Expo, which is co-sponsored with Vista Health Plans, the Boca Raton Business News, and approximately a dozen bi-national and specialty chambers. Expo organizers expect one hundred or more exhibitors and over 3,000 attendees. Cost is $15.
