What has changed?

Guardian Unlimited has launched a new search platform, designed to give you the best possible access to our archive.

Guided navigation

You don't need to use an archive search form with the new search. On the left-hand side of every results page you'll see the guided navigation - a set of links with numbers beside them. These show your search broken down into various filters which you can select to focus your results. You can narrow your results by site, by section, by date and by publication (and, coming soon, by writer).

Simpler search queries

The guided navigation functionality is so powerful, you don't need to use complicated operators such as AND and OR. The only exception is when you put quotes around your search term; this will search for the exact phrase. All searches are now case insensitive.
