Justin Nielson joins our team of professionals with 10 years experience in working with troubled teens, marketing of troubled teen programs, and beginning and operating programs. Justin has worked with Brightway Adolescent Hospital, an acute care hospital for teens with conduct disorders. His services were rendered as a Psychiatric Technician and an Assistant Recreational Therapist. His family consists of him, his wife Jennifer and two sons, Noah ages 5 and Griffin who joined their family 3 months ago. His family has participated as a group living home for foster youth and as a tracker for the state of Utah in tracking and assisting adjudicated teens. While working with the State of Utah Justin became certified in Targeted Case Management through a series of courses required by the state. Justin was a key player in the establishment of Adolescent Services Inc., a marketing service for programs all over the world. His services were in the area of Office Manager in establishing ASI as a reputable service for assisting families to find help for their troubled teen. Justin was asked to direct the Red Rock Academy in Southern Utah in early February 1998. His responsibilities included all facets of establishing and running the day to day requirements of a Residential Treatment Center 1) Academic, 2) Therapeutic, and 3) Group Living. Red Rock Academy was purchased by Cross Creek Programs and Justin returned to ASI. ASI was purchased by Teen Help where he continued serving families in finding placement for their youth. He has now put his full effort into assisting White River Adventure to provide quality services for families in need. Justin also speaks fluent Portuguese and Spanish. He is a Certified Instructor for International Association of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, CPR and First Aid Certified and attended Dixie State College where he studied Psychology.


Eva I. García Pérez obtained her Master Degree from the University of Puerto Rico in 1985, and was certified as a clinician in 1998 by the National Association of Social Workers. She has studied Family Therapy, Psychology and Theatre as well. Eva received her professional appointment as a Clinical staff at the Child Psychiatric Unit under the Massachusetts Mental Health Center in Boston from 1986-1988, providing also services at Elementary Schools doing prevention, treatment, and consultation for students and Faculty. After returning to Puerto Rico, Mrs. Garcia held the position of Director of the Social Worker Department at CPC Hospital San Juan Capistrano in San Juan. At this clinical setting she was responsible for supervision of staff social workers and provided supervision to graduate school students from the University of PR. Eva has also worked in the State Department of Correction where she held the position of Assistant to the Administrator or Rehabilitation and Treatment. The past 8 years she has provided independent clinical services to Magellan Health Care, workers of Employee assistance Program and as presenter of different topics related to EAP field to Magellan’s client organizations. Her vast experience also includes other scenarios like The Society of Epilepsy, Forensic Expert in sexual abuse; she has trained many professionals on how to deal with this problem. Eva has experience providing individual and family psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults.
In the community she has received much recognition for her dedication to peace and human civil rights. She also served on the Board of Directors for several professional and community organizations. In addition to her professional accomplishments she is the proud mother of a 5 year old little boy.

Eladio Rivera-Lassen started his professional career in 1986 as an environmental specialist and Bidding Board member. He continued as Equipment director from 1992-1997 and since 1995 to present, Interagency Coordinator for emergencies for the State Emergencies and Disasters Management Agency. Eladio has a B.A. in Education, B.S. in Biology and his Masters in Science / Biology. He has served in the Armed forces for more than 20 years. Eladio has since dedicated his time and talents to assisting youth to better their education and their futures.


Dra. Yvonne Rodriguez Conesa is the Medical Doctor for White River Adventure. She graduated from Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine and Universidad de Puerto Rico School of Medicine on June 30, 1988. She has been practicing medicine ever since and currently has her own practice in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Dr. Rodriguez Conesa has a more full bio that will be listed on White River Adventure’s website in the next few weeks.


Brian Lemons started working with teens about 6 years ago. He began working as a line staff at Sunhawk Academy where he held a shift supervisory position. He also assisted in establishing a Wilderness program as a Head of Staff. Brian then worked at Red Rock Canyon School where he helped open a Wilderness/Ranch program using Positive Peer Culture. Most recently before moving to Puerto Rico he worked at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Utah where he attended the Category 2 Police Academy. His trainings include First Aide/CPR, First Responder, Mandt., CPI, PCS and extensive training in PPC. He strongly believes he draws on these past experiences each day as he assists and cares for the teens at White River Adventure. Brian also plays the guitar and assists students at White River Adventure to improve upon their talents.

 


Eliomar Cartagena Morales (Omar) was born in Humacao Puerto Rico but was raised in Tampa Florida and Queens New York. He is 22 years of age, married to a beautiful wife which supports his line of work. They do not have any children but look forward to having some of their own in the future. In addition to Omar’s work at White River Adventure he is a Christian singer who travels all over Puerto Rico and sometimes to the United States to sing. He enjoys working with youth and families and feels his singing assists others to feel positive and have a desire for change in their lives. Omar works as a group leader at White River Adventure. He also enjoys playing the guitar.
