Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce
Welcome to Palm Beach! Whether you plan to stay for just a few weeks or for a lifetime, I hope you will get to know our charming neighborhoods and the people who give our Town its vitality.
With palm trees lining the streets, a remembrance of the Providencia shipwreck in 1878, the Town of Palm Beach provides a friendly welcome to visitors from around the corner and around the world. While only 14 miles long and 1/2 mile in width, the island is filled with history and legends and fantastic things to see and do every day of the year. From its rustic founding, the Town has grown into a year-round community with a diverse population. Small-town appeal with an international profile, Palm Beach has everything. Charming neighborhoods, three distinct retail districts, schools, parks beaches - and three bridges to the main land to a newly revived urban center and state of the art cultural venues. The Town of Palm Beach has one of the most highly regarded police forces in the country under the leadership of Police Chief Michael Reiter. The Fire Rescue Department, with three firehouses, is directed by Chief Kent Koelz. Both public and private schools on the island are located near the Recreation Department where daytime and after school classes for all ages are scheduled. Six clay courts and two hard courts are on the premises, along with basketball courts and a football field. Additional courts opened in Spring of 2002 at Phipps Ocean Park. Whether you're planning to relocate or simply visit, the Town, the Chamber and the citizens of Palm Beach welcome you to paradise: we think Palm Beach is very special and hope you will come to share our enthusiasm for this very special barrier island community where the sun always shines.
