KESHIA CHANTÉ
With CASSIE STEELE (Degrassi character Manny Santos);
AMANDA STOTT & CHRISTINE EVANS
THURSDAY AUGUST 25 @ 8PM
In 2003, 15 year-old Ottawa native Keshia Chanté burst onto the music scene and instantly grabbed the attention of both industry tastemakers and consumers.

This petite vocal powerhouse garnered numerous accolades including two Top10 CHR singles (“Shook The Answer” #10, “Unpredictable” #3), a #1 video at YTV and a Top 10 video at MuchMusic (“Unpredictable”), a Gold single (”Unpredictable”) and an Urban Music Association of Canada Award for “Best R&B Artist.” 2004 began on a high note with Keshia Chanté taking home the Canadian Radio Award for “Best New Solo Artist.” Her new single, “Bad Boy”, is already making power moves up the CHR chart and is currently Top 10.

The video for “Bad Boy”, directed by Little x, will be serviced to all stations in early May. Keshia’s highly anticipated, June 22nd self-titled debut will not only feature her existing hits, but will also include hot new tracks like “Does He Love Me” with Foxy Brown, which was produced by Young Gavin. In 2005 she won a Juno, garnered many nominations at the MuchMusic Video Awards and continues to wow audiences everywhere she performs. Get ready for the rise of a new global superstar.

Keshia is performing with a trio of very talented young women vocalists, each with stellar voices and stage presence.

CASSIE STEELE: Singer, actress, dancer, gymnast, swimmer, skater, martial arts etc.... her drive steered her onto the set of "Degrassi: the Next Generation" series where she currently stars as Manny Santos. This clever Canadian's latest sortie pierced the recording industry with the completion of her debut album "How Much For Happy". The record is 100% Cassie Steele. Says Cassie, "It doesn't matter where this gets, just so long as I can keep writing and singing".

AMANDA STOTT: In 1999, at the ripe old age of 17, Stott was put under contract by Warner Music Canada. Live shows kept her fan base growing, while she went to work on her first album.

Music videos on television stations like CMT put the young star in front of U.S. country music fans. Award nominations and wins began to roll in, like the Rising Star Award, Outstanding Video of the Year for "Black Is Black," Outstanding Country Recording and Outstanding Album for her self-titled debut, Entertainer of the Year, and a coveted Juno for Best New Solo Artist. Some of the tunes Stott performs are "Reachin' for a Star," "I Just Believe That I Can," "All Along," "He Loves Me Like That," "To Keep From Missing You," "Every Time the Phone Rings," and "Magic."

CHRISTINE EVANS: Christine Evans has delivered on the promise of her hit, debut singles with powerful songs of evocative modern pop. Her CD Take Me Home (distributed by Warner Music Canada, in stores January 25th 2005)is a well-crafted collection of original love songs bathed in lush soundscapes, which features several orchestrations by acclaimed arranger-conductor Paul Buckmaster. And was produced by Seattle studio wizard, Tom Hall.

“Christine Evans is one of the most promising young artists that I’ve heard in a very long time,” enthused Hall, “When I heard her demo, I realized there was a real opportunity to create something extraordinary,” Hall continued. “They were honest, believable, compelling songs that clearly came from the heart.”

Still only 14 years old, Christine has been singing and writing songs since she was seven. Her lyrical readings of hook-laden addictive songs; some sweet, some bittersweet, some so dark and haunting they are truly transcendent, echo back through a history of pop masterpieces from Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette and Avril Lavigne to Joni Mitchell, and a teenaged Marianne Faithful’s (As Tears Go By).
