Order tickets for the upcoming Neil Simon classic, The Odd Couple, starring Mathew Broderick and Nathan Lane of The Producers fame for shows at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. The timeless classic makes a return to stage after its initial showing in 1965 when it collected four Tony awards.
The revamped story will follow the exploits of mismatched roommates and recent divorcees, Felix Unger (Broderick) and Oscar Madison (Lane). Unger, a stiff-colored neat-nick tries to coexist with the brash, sloppy sportswriter, Madison, in a New York apartment. Two-time Tony award winner, Joe Mantello directs the powerhouse duo of Lane and Broderick, both also two-time Tony award winners. Also joining the cast for his Broadway debut is Everybody Loves Raymond star, Brad Garret, who plays appropriately, Murray the cop.
The Odd Couple will be opening this fall which will surely be one of the hottest and hardest tickets for Broadway. The play Neil Simon is most remembered for will be sure to recapture audiences again as it did in 1965, then again in the classic Matheau/Lemon movie in 1968, and once again in the successful television series that ran five years starring Tony Randall and Jack Klugman.
