New - Summary of CCSC now finalised, comments are welcomed

The report of CCSC 2001 is now available here.

An excerpt from the summary:

"None of the speakers or participants doubted whether there is a future for electronic journals in science they are clearly here to stay. As the format of scientific publication changes, many new methods of gathering and sharing information become possible that will change the way science is practiced. To get at this new utopia, however, there are many practical, technical and heuristic as well as conceptual and philosophical hurdles that need to be taken by the collective of scientific information producers and consumers. There is a long road ahead of analysis, standardisation, creative problem solving, and the further integration of computer-assisted thinking in the scientific workflow. This conference was a first step on that road." ... full report
