Trying to find info about my father and his family.

My father, Lee Shirley was born in 1912 someplace in Alabama. I do not know the names of my grandparants. He told me once that he ran away from home when he was 12 years old to New Mexico and was only in contact with his parants once or twice since leaving home. He also said he was from a large family, possibly 12 or 13 brothers and sisters. Lee lived in the Dallas, TX area in the late 50's and 60. Married Lucille Logan from Booneville, Ar. in 1957 at Oklahoma City, OK.. Was a union painter by trade. I was born in 1960 in Dallas. I was told by my mother before she died that Lee was married before and had a daughter possibly born around 1945. Lee died in Booneville, AR in 1979. Any help in solving my mystery would be appreciated!
