Welcome to the Hanover County Geographic Information Access System, on-line since September 20, 2000. This application allows access to a variety of County GIS data linked to tax parcel data from the Commissioner of Revenue.

Select "Mapping Help" from the main menu to learn how to use the site or select "Enter Mapping/Data Section" to begin accessing GIS data.

In an effort to enhance this web site, the County now operates this web site using a GIS software (ArcIMS) that allows for more interactive operations. Hence, you will notice some changes to the site. The query operations portion of the site has not changed, except that when multiple records meet the query parameters, the owner name and the gpin are now displayed to try and make the record selection process easier.

The Map Navigation and Search tools have been modified in their appearance, but they operate in very much the same way as before. Additional capabilities have been added to the zoom tools, a measure tool has been added, and an easy map-printing tool has been added. Check the "Mapping Help" section for additional information on these tools or contact the Hanover County GIS section at (804) 365-6171.
