Soldiers Racing Clock to Save Pakistanis
Soldiers from the 25th Infantry Division are racing the clock before the brutal winter sets in, delivering relief supplies and evacuating casualties in remote mountainous Pakistan villages, hit hard by the Oct. 8 earthquake. “Everything that you do...you're either saving someone's life, feeding children or making someone warm," said Command Sgt. Maj. Hector Marin. One Pakistani man gave excited praise through his broken English for his family's rescue by the Soldiers. "Thank you, thank you, America, yes, thank you," he said as he shook hands with U.S. Soldiers.

Soldiers Building Positive Relationships with Iraqis
Children in the village of Tall Qussab, Iraq, flocked to Soldiers from the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, waving Iraqi flags and cheering. They were thankful because the Soldiers, along with local Iraqi leaders and contractors, built a new school for them. “I feel good,” said 1st Lt. Ryan Poyant, from 1st Squadron. “This is exactly why the regiment is here to do this mission in Iraq--provide service to the population, support the government and help build relationships with the people.”

Army Medics Hold Clinic for Iraqi Citizens
Medics from 1st Battalion, 9th Field Artillery Regiment, set up a clinic in a Baghdad school for the local residents. “We saw an opportunity to do something good for the Iraqi people and followed up on it,” said Capt. Scott Baumgartner, physician's assistant. An hour after the clinic opened, a large crowd had already formed outside the schoolhouse and Soldiers passed out stuffed animals and small Iraqi flags to those in line. “It feels good to do this kind of thing,” said Staff Sgt. Gilberto Colon, medic platoon sergeant. “You can see the people really appreciate it.”
