CHESS & BOOKS
with Fred Wilson
Live Internet Radio Show

Next show: Tuesday, Nov 29th
12:00pm ET
Guest: IM JIM RIZZITANO

Fred's guest Tuesday night, Nov. 29th, 2005 will again be IM JIM RIZZITANO. Jim is the author of the highly acclaimed recent opening book "How to Beat 1 d4" (Gambit, 2005) and the instructional & autobiographical games collection "Understanding Your Chess" (Gambit, 2004). Jim, who recently returned to the arena, tying for 8th in this year's US Open, had actually stopped playing tournament chess for almost 15 years (1989-2004)! Among the many things Jim and I will discuss are what are some of the ways a working adult player can try to improve, including correct use of chess engines in evaluating your games, and the differences in writing an opening book compared to an instructional book.  Jim will explain what he had to do to climb from being an 1800 player to 2583 in little more than a decade. Please send questions for IM Jim Rizzitano to either fred@fredwilsonchess.com or Tony Rook
