Five-Piece Bath Set

Materials: About 6 ounces of worsted weight cotton for all 5 pieces

Crochet hook size H


Bath Puff

Make 5 of these:

(Each finished piece will be ruffled.)

Ch 4, join with a sl st to form ring

Round 1: Ch 4 to count as first dc and first ch 1; work (dc, ch1) 7 times in

ring, join with a sl st to the 3rd ch of the beginning ch 4. (8 dc and 8 ch 1

spaces.)

Round 2: Ch 4 to count as first dc and first ch 1, dc in same st as joining;

*(ch 1, dc) twice in next ch 1 space, (ch 1, dc) twice in the next dc* Repeat

from * to * 6 times; (ch 1, dc) twice in next ch 1 space, ch 1, join with a sl

st to the 3rd ch of the beginning ch 4. (32 dc and 32 ch 1 spaces.)

Round 3: Ch 1, sc in the same stitch as joining; (ch 3, sc in the next ch 1

space, ch 3 sc in the nest dc) 31 times, ch 3, sc in the next ch 1 space, ch

3, join with a sl st to the first sc. Fasten off. weave in ends.

Tie: Chain 100; sl st in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten

off. Weave in ends.

Assembly: Fold the tie in half. Tie the ends together with a large overhand

knot. Thread the center fold through the center ring of each of the round

pieces; pull tightly together. Tie an overhand knot close to the top round

piece, and then tie another knot to secure, leaving the rest of the tie piece

as a hanging loop.


Back Scrubber

Main piece:

Ch 13

Row 1: Sc in second chain from hook and in each chain across, ch 1, turn.

(12 sc)

Row 2: Sc across, inserting hook in back loop of row 1 and loop of

foundation chain; ch 1, turn. (12 sc)

Row 3: Sc across, inserting hook in back loop of row 2 and unworked loop of

row 1; ch 1 turn. (12 sc)

Rows 4-59: Repeat row 3, inserting hook in back loop of the previous row

and unworked loop 2 rows below; ch 1, turn. (12 sc)

Row 60: Repeat row 3, inserting hook in BOTH loops of row 59, and the

back loop of row 58. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Add handles:

Round 1: Ch 50, then sc evenly along one long side of the main piece, ch

100, being careful not to twist ch, sc evenly along the other long side of the

main piece, ch 50, join with a sl st to the first ch, being careful not to twist

ch.

Round 2: Sl st in each ch and in each sc around; join with a sl st to the first

sl st. Fasten off, weave in ends.

Finishing: Tie an overhand knot in the center of the ch’s to form handles.

Make 2 of these:

Chain 16

Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook; (ch 1, skip next ch, sc in the next ch) 7

times; ch 1, turn. (8 sc)

Row 2: Sc in the first sc, sc in the next ch 1 space; (ch 1, skip next sc, sc in

the next ch 1 space) 6 times, sc in the last sc; ch 1, turn. (9 sc)

Row 3: Sc in the first sc, ch 1, skip next sc, sc in the next ch 1 space; (ch

1, skip next sc, sc in the next ch 1 space) 5 times, ch 1, skip the next sc, sc

in the last sc; ch 1, turn. (8 sc)

Rows 4-17: (Repeat rows 2 and 3) 7 times. Do not ch 1 at the end of row

17. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Drawstring: Chain 100; sl st in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across.

Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Finishing: Lay one rectangular piece on top of the other. Join to form a

“pocket” by working sc evenly around one long side, then one short side,

then the other long side, leaving the last short side open. Do not fasten off.

Round 1: (Beading round) Ch 4 to count as first dc and first ch 1; dc in the

first ch 1 space around the pocket opening, (ch 1, dc in the next ch 1 space)

around; ch 1, join to the third ch of beginning ch 4.

Round 2: (Ruffle) Ch 1, sc in the same st as joining; (ch 3, sc in the next ch

1 space, ch 3, sc in the next dc) around; ch 3, sc in the last ch 1 space, ch

3, join with a sl st to the first sc. Fasten off; weave in ends.

Finishing: Weave the drawstring through the beading round. Pull up a loop

and tie to form hanging loop. Pull ends tight to gather and tie in a bow.


Washcloth

Chain 34

Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook; (ch 1, skip next ch, sc in the next ch)

16 times; ch 1, turn. (17 sc)

Row 2: Sc in the first sc, sc in the next ch 1 space; (ch 1, skip next sc, sc in

the next ch 1 space) 15 times, sc in the last sc; ch 1, turn. (18 sc)

Row 3: Sc in the first sc, ch 1, skip next sc, sc in the next ch 1 space; (ch

1, skip next sc, sc in the next ch 1 space) 16 times, ch 1, skip the next sc,

sc in the last sc; ch 1, turn. (17 sc)

Rows 4-32: (Repeat rows 2 and 3) 14 times. Do not ch 1 at the end of row

32.

Edging:

Round 1:Working around the outside edge, sc evenly around with 3 sc in

each corner; join with a sl st to the first sc.

Round 2: Sl st in each sc around; join with a sl st to the first sl st. Fasten

off. Weave in ends.

Row 1: Sc in second chain from hook and in each chain across, ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Sc across, inserting hook in back loop of row 1 and loop of

row 1; ch 1 turn. (12 sc)

Rows 4-17: Repeat row 3, inserting hook in back loop of the previous row

and unworked loop 2 rows below; ch 1, turn. (12 sc)

Row 18: Repeat row 3, inserting hook in BOTH loops of row 17, and the

back loop of row 16. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
