Is WoW overpopulation becoming an issue?

World of WarcraftForget what I said the other day about the more the merrier. Why the heck am I constantly having to queue up to log in to servers where I already have characters?

Last night, I tried logging into 5 different Realms, before finally giving up and creating a new character in a new Realm. I, for one, would like to see Blizzard do something about this. Either make a population cap or let us migrate characters from other Realms or spider all the Realms together. Something. Sometimes I just want to log in and play for a little bit, and the queue destroys that. Do I really need to create a different character for every Realm and spend hours and hours trying to grow them all? What do you think?

1. There is a free trial available now via download. I wonder if that is causing some of the overpopulation pressure? I personally have not had any issues with queues on Frostwolf since they let players transfer to Frostmane.

2. I agree, there does seem to be an overpopulation issue going on in WoW all of a sudden. I tried to log in to Bloodhoof last night and I was presented with a queue! That was the first time I had seen that since the beta.

3. I've been running into a queue every night recently on Arthas. On the weekends it's worse but you'll find the queue on Tuesdays, Thursdays, pretty much any day.

4. From what I've heard - the Trials may be adding to server overpopulation - but when they are queuing to join an already full server they get bumped by regular paying subscribers. Just have to work out a system where they "boot" trial users who are already in my realm!!

5. I'd seen people post in the forums about "queues of 800", but had been lucky enough to not really understand what they meant. I'd never seen a "realm is full" message before... ... until last Saturday, that is! Not sure if it is a sign of things to come, or a bit of a glitch, but my previously "medium" pop realm of Suramr gave me a queue over the weekend - only 40 people, so only took a minute or so, but it is a worry!

6. Same here - Burning Legion is now getting queues :( Blizzard should prevent or throttle new accounts on "Full" servers IMO.
