HELLO and THANKS for taking the time to look through my surnames!

On my maternal side, I am researching the FREEMAN W. BLOUNT family of Greenville (Meriwether County), Georgia. His son, ELI H. BLOUNT was my great grandfather. Eli married MARY JANE "MOLLIE" SMITH. I know pratically nothing about her family other than her parents were John C. Smith, Sr. and Jane A. C. Kirby and she had brothers by the names of E. K. SMITH, J. L. K. SMITH, and FRED SMITH. Mollie was born in Lee County, Alabama. Any help on this SMITH line would be most appreciated.

I am just starting SCHIMPF genealogy. My husband's father, Paul F. SCHIMPF, Sr., b. 8-31-1903, in Newark, Ohio, son of Frank J. SCHIMPF and Kathryn BIRMINGHAM. Frank was the son of Jacob SCHIMPF and Frances HINGER, both from Germany. Would like to correspond with anyone researching this SCHIMPF line. Enter your queries and lineage in the guestbook on the SCHIMPF FAMILY SURNAME home page (link on bottom of this page).

On my husband's maternal side, the EILERMAN family of Newport and Covington, Kentucky was his mother's family. This Eilerman family owned the Eilerman Clothing Stores in Newport and Covington, Kentucky.

I am currently researching the CORNETT family of Perry County and Knott County, Kentucky. I descend from Nathaniel W. CORNETT (son of William Jesse CORNETT and Mary EVERAGE) and Lydia CAUDILL on both my maternal and paternal side.

On my paternal side, I am looking for the parents of my great grandfather, DAVID A. SMITH, b. abt. 1852 (probably in Kentucky). All I know about him is that he married an unknown woman in Kentucky (maybe Wolfe County). They had 4 children, Austin "Roscoe", John Henry, and Charlie, and an unknown daughter. They divorced around 1899. Family information says he caught the ex-wife and daughter gone with the boys locked up inside the house. He pulled them out thru the chimney, using a rope. They walked and hitched rides on wagons to Knott County, Kentucky where he re-married, to Rachel CORNETT, daughter of Benton CORNETT and Polly Ann DAVIDSON. Benton was the son of Nathaniel W. and Lydia CORNETT. Does anyone have information on my David A. SMITH?

I am willing to share any information I have in my FTM program of 13,501 individuals as of January 2002.
