Movie Virgins of Channel 4, a 4-episode documentary on the shooting of “Emotional Backgammon” introduced Koutaiba Al-Janabi;
Emotional Backgammon had its UK premier on August 29 2003, at the Odeon Cinema Leicester Square and was shown in Odeon Cinemas in London.

Abu Dhabi Filmfestival (March 2003) staged a celebration of Koutaiba Al-Janabi's films in a special programme.  He was also member of the Jury at the Festival.
