West Broward YMCA | The YMCA of Broward County Florida was founded in 1944 with a mission to provide programs for the community as a whole based on Judeo/Christian principles that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. This mission holds true today. The YMCA currently has six (6) branches located throughout Broward County. The YMCA movement was founded in London, England in 1844, with the first US YMCA in Boston, Massachusetts in 1851.
A strong focus is placed on youth work by the YMCA organization. There are currently approximately 3500 children being served in our Before and After School Child Care programs. Over 80% of these children receive financial assistance, allowing them to attend the program at a reduced rate. The YMCA is the largest private provider of childcare programs for the disabled population and for financially disadvantaged families in Broward County.
Programs for children and adults with disabilities are provided each school day during after school hours and on days when school is not in session. Funding for this program is provided in part by the United Way, Broward County Commissioners Children’s Services Board, Human Services Board and YMCA annual sustaining funds. A low teacher to student ratio of 1:5 is provided to assure that adequate care is given and that individual goals are established for each participant.

Kiwanis Club of Weston | The Kiwanis Club of Weston reflects our community spirit and heart. Our members come from all walks of life and share a common goal… we believe making the world a better place starts right here in our community. Our membership is open to any and all who believe that service to humanity is something we can all participate in and make a difference throughout the world.
Our members believe that all children and the member of this community will benefit from our efforts and as a member our rewards will come from knowing that we participated.
Kiwanis clubs view their roles in their respective communities with a great deal of foresight. In Weston we:
• Evaluate both children’s issues and community needs. • Conduct service projects to respond to those needs. • Maintain an active membership who have both the desire and the ability to serve their community.
The Kiwanis Club of Weston is actively seeking concerned participants who wish to help make a difference in the Weston community and throughout the world. If you are interested in giving back just a little then please contact us.

From its inception, the Rotary Club of Weston is committed to participating in activities and raising funds for community and international projects. The Club currently organizes two major fundraisers each year, an annual Golf tournament and a 5k/half-marathon HOLIDAY RUN. With the support of sponsors, volunteers, Interactors and hard work from the members, the two events raise more than $65,000 each year for local charities, community organizations, college scholarships and the Rotary Foundation. A portion of fundraising is donated to the Rotary Foundation, which sponsors projects to provide medical and humanitarian relief to people in underdeveloped countries and eradicating Polio.
