I have 3 games with starforce3

The I of the Dragon
American Conquest
Konung2

all games russian editions

images are succesfully emulated without any CD device in system except alcohol virtual cd

you must unplug power supply from your cd, disabling secondary controlller in bios don't help

ps
tips for creating:

cd-rw TEAC CD-W512E changed for CD-W548E (konung2)
DPM precision high and DPM creation speed 1x
konung2 has sub-channels

I have also backuped StarForce 3 protected game. It was RunAway CZ. I have used StarForce 1.x/2.x profile. It works fine with my Sony CRX-195E1

Right on rouher! I just bought this new game "Restaurant Empire" which uses "Starforce 3" (From Russia with love), and followed your advice... and it works!!! :woot:

It's kind of a pain having to unplug the power cords from all my CD drives, but I'm curious as to why that's necessary.
What exactly is the copy protection looking for?

I used my TDK-1210 CD-RW to back up with the "Securom *NEW (V 4.x)" Datatype option at 1x speed.

Then I turned off the computer and unplugged all the power cables from my CD drives. Restarted my system and changed my Virtual Drive letter to 'D'. Set the DVD region code to 1. Removed the Manufacturer name AVX leaving it blank, and finally installed the game with the Virtual SCSI CD drive. Then I entered the serial number and played the game from the image.

You need to un-plug all the IDE devices because starforce 3 will ask you to put the cd in a IDE device, if there is any IDE dev., nad the virtual drive is an SCSI device.

Anyway i remember that Alcohol DOES NOT SUPPORT OFFICIALLY STARFORCE 3

I found a way to eliminate unplugging your CD-ROMs everytime:

If you have no more than two IDE CD-ROM devices, be sure they are both connected to your Secondary IDE cable. Then disable the Secondary IDE Controller in the BIOS/CMOS setup. Mount the game on the Virtual Drive with either Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools and it will work!

[Note: You will need to enable the Secondary IDE Controller in your BIOS/CMOS each time you use your CD drives and disable each time you play a Starfoce 3 protected game]

Man, this StarForce 3 SUX!!!! :cen:

If this can't be bypassed, then I'll either have to revert back to running games from the CD again ( Ewwwwwww!! ), or buying games from the US that use other copy protections.

Either way, it apprears the days of me running my games from virtual images, to save ware and tear on the CD, are over.

Since I'm in Australia most of the software mastered here, is starting to use StarForce 3. This is not a good trend.

Not really.. cracking a protection is easy but it involves reverse engineering of the software which is not legal. We do not condone the use of cracks or the mentioning of them in the support forum, please bear that in mind.

You also run the risk of viruses and trojans on the less than legal versions of software.

:D HI, another Aussie here,

YES, it is true. I have just downloaded XPAND RALLY from the internet and ULTIMA has done a brilliant job!!!!!!!!!!!.
It is also with a lot of humor, they should be given an OSCAR!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers
