Cowards!

Something to keep in mind during the next time you're watching your favorite war shoot-em-up flick, or listening to some good ol-fashioned gansta rap...

It seems that a lot of celebrities (whom we're all sure "Support The Troops") are either too AFRAID or too Anti-War to go perform for the troops.

According to an article in UK's The Guardian, many of the stars who used to rally to the cause now shy away. Also, to be fair, hat tip to Robin Williams, Al Franken, and Henry Rollins, who, according to the article, have done shows while not supporting the war.

Some people talk... others are all talk.

Col. Oliver North had a repeat program last night on the USO. They're having a tough time getting "celebrities" to entertain the troops nowadays. I agree with you that they're total cowards & crybabies. There's just a world of difference in the stars of yesteryear and the pampered pets of today. We should all see that they feel it at the box-office!

Well, there's Gary Sinese, Bruce Willis, a lot of country singers, (part of the reason I started listening to Toby Keith)Ted Nugent's got a page on his website dedicated to the USO, I read on a blog that a bunch of wrestlers did a tour of Afghanistan (not gonna watch wrestling)....so there are some...they just don't get much coverage in the news. And I will give Al Franken credit for going (though I don't find him funny) and Robin Williams (who I find hilarious). So while there are some and I'm sure the troops love it when they go to entertain I think maybe the support of the "folks" means more to them in the long run. Reid, am I wrong in thinking that?

And Brian, N.E. Ohio is right there with you!

Heck, I'd go entertain the troops in a heartbeat if they'd let me! Can't sing or dance but can make you laugh! I figure that if you guys are willing to put it on the line for us then we should do no less for you!

Don't forget DREW CAREY - a good guy who did a tour in Afghanistan, including the FOBs at Jalalabad and Asadabad -- which are certainly not plush gigs by any means.

Stop and think: These people earn their living by PRETENDING to be something they are not.

In the evolution of Hollywwod, many stars went into the military (James Stewart was a bomber pilot, with several nmissions)Some guys came to Hollywood from the military(Eddie albert landed on tarawa, Robert Ryan was a DI, Lee Marvin landed on Saipan)

These are all prime examples of spineless people. They are afraid that Lib producers will not continue to hire them to "pretend".

The real crux? Think they could pretend their way out of a situation with Al-Zarcawi?
