Parents can be the single greatest influence in their kids' decision not to smoke.11: The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University. 2001. Malignant Neglect: Substance Abuse and America's Schools. Raising Kids Who Don't Smoke is a series of publications, comprised of English and Spanish-language materials, developed for parents of kids 10-17 to encourage and help them talk to their kids about not smoking. This brochure series was created, on behalf of Philip Morris USA Youth Smoking Prevention, in consultation with an advisory board of respected parenting and child development experts.
