The storyline to Sonic's new adventure is simple. Follow the evil antics of old adversary Dr. Eggman and newcomers Shadow (a Sonic lookalike) and Rouge (a roguish bat) in their search for Chaos emeralds--- a source of gigantic power that also feeds an ancient weapon capable of destroying an entire planet. So it's up to Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails to stop the mischievous trio from fulfilling their plans of world domination. Visually, Sonic 2 is simply jaw-dropping beautiful. Sharp, vivid worlds come to life with lush backgrounds that just dazzle the eyes with amazing detail, while both the main cast and enemies showoff brilliant colors in every hue and shade imaginable. Even better than the sights are the sounds to Sonic. An eclectic mix of orchestrated masterpieces, guitar tunes, and melodic hip-hop voices gracefully fill the game's ambiance to a perfect pitch.

Additionally, mastering the controls of six different characters gives Sonic 2 enough variety in its gameplay to make it addicting to the very end. Sonic Adventure 2 continues the Hedgehog's legacy in impeccable form. Brilliantly showcasing marvelous visuals, hip tunes, and a diversity of playable characters, Sonic runs at supersonic speeds to deafening fun. Feel the rush with one of the Dreamcast's last fantastic games.
