Gifts : An object given to someone without the need for compensation. Gifts are often given to friends and loved ones at Christmas, continuing a tradition from Roman times when presents were given to the Emperor.

Santa Claus : An imaginary man who circles the globe on Christmas Eve distributing gifts. Believed to be a derivation of Saint Nicolas, the patron saint of Children.
