History Division Opens for Business at Quantico.

The Marine Corps Historical Center on the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C., closed its doors to researchers and the public on 1 July 2005 in preparation for the History Division's relocation to Quantico, Virginia. The Division took occupancy of its new facility on Marine Corps Base Quantico in early September and has reopened to researchers near the Gray Research Center of the Marine Corps University.

- A modern facility where Marine Corps history can be presented to the public, a campus that would include a world-class museum, a place where priceless artifacts can be properly restored and protected, and where organizations and associations of Marines can meet. Now becoming a reality. MORE

Korean War Commemoration
The 50th Anniversary of the Korean War commemorative period officially ran from 25 June 2000 to 15 September 2003. In observance of the period, the History and Museums Division produced several products and two exhibits highlighting Marine actions in the Korean War. While the commemoration is now over, this site will remain active for those interested in accessing the information. MORE
