The father makes low-budget Bollywood films in - where else - Saskatchewan, one son is a rising pop star in Japan, the mother, fed up with the drain on the family finances, discovers she has cancer, and the other son documents all of it-including a family pilgrimage to India.
Meet the Ramayyas, a unique East Indian family from the northern Saskatchewan town of LaRonge.
As a teenager, Anand Ramayya followed many typical Canadian pursuits-muscle cars, beer, hockey and rock 'n' roll. But he was also drafted into his Indian-born father's part-time passion - making feature films. Then, a life-threatening illness struck the family and the young filmmaker found himself on a modern-day spiritual pilgrimage-accompanied by his traditional Hindu homemaker mother, his unconventional father and his rock star brother.
