Friday 10 February:
Yes Weekend - 6:20 and 10:53PM - Dalek/The Long Game
Saturday 11 February:
een Belgium 3:55PM - The Doctor Dances
Tuesday 14 February:
Ztele Canada 8PM - Un Jeu Interminable
Friday 17 March:
SciFi US 9PM EST/PST - Rose (US Premiere!)

Radio station BBC7 http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7 has a surprise Doctor Who related premiere this week. "Dalek, I Love You" airs at 6PM and Midnight GMT on Saturday 11 February (their 7th Dimension sci-fi timeslot). It's a new drama about an obsessed Doctor Who fan who meets his own Doctor Who girl. There is no further information about this drama - dunno who wrote it, who's starring in it, anything. Hopefully it'll be good. Those of us outside the UK can listen live via Windows Media Player or RealPlayer, and the Listen Again feature
(using RealPlayer) should have this program available until 18 February.

Iowa Public TV http://www.iptv.org is asking viewers to vote with their wallets to decide on the next batch of Doctor Who stories for their station. On March 11 during their Festival Pledge Drive, The Five Doctors will air (probably from 10:30PM to 12:30AM). Viewers who call in with pledges to support Doctor Who will be asked which of the 7 Doctors from the original 26 year run (William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy) you want IPTV to air next. Presumably the winning Doctor's stories would air after the conclusion of the run of Sylvester McCoy stories that just began. Members of the Unit-1 Doctor Who fan group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/unit-1 will be among those answering phones.

IPTV's announcement means that they are able to buy whatever Doctor Who stories they want to, which means that there has been a change in the status of classic Doctor Who syndication in the US. The embargo on public TV stations buying Doctor Who (from 1963 to 1989) is over. Any station that wants to buy Doctor Who again can do so as soon as they want to, though I imagine that if there are any interested stations they will probably wait to see how the new series does on Sci-Fi and wait for the next fiscal year when they can find room in their budgets for the show. While not stated, it is assumed that the contract problems about airing Dalek stories from the original 26 year run are still in place.

Assuming the report that Doctor Who premieres on ATV World http://www.hkatv.com/world05 in Hong Kong on the 19th are correct, premiere information should appear on their website on 13 February Hong Kong time. If you live in Hong Kong or have friends who do, they'll want to keep an eye on that site for the premiere details.

Italian viewers have one more chance to see the 1st Series finale - The Parting Of The Ways repeats Thursday at 10:40PM CET on Jimmy. Then it's off the schedule for the time being.

The countdown to the US premiere gets shorter. We are 37 days out from Rose airing on SciFi http://www.scifi.com right now. SciFi's Doctor Who website http://www.scifi.com/doctorwho still hasn't gone online yet, but I suspect it'll be up by the end of the month. If you can't wait for SciFi to air the episodes, the Series One boxset will be out in Canada on Tuesday the 14th (Valentine's Day) in the same video format and region code as all US DVD players - it can be ordered online. If you wanted the boxset in PAL format from the UK or Australia then you probably bought it by now - if not then you will find it in most online stores for those countries. The US release of Series One on DVD will be after SciFi premieres the episodes - Tuesday, July 4 - US Independence Day. If you bought the DVDs from the UK or Canada and don't plan to buy the US set, please watch the episodes on SciFi (if you have SciFi) to show your support. Doctor Who doesn't need to do quite as well as Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, or Battlestar Galactica to secure a steady home in the US - but it does need to have an audience.

BBC Three http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree is airing a special repeat of "The Christmas Invasion" this Friday at 9PM GMT.

The BBC Press Office http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice and C21 Media http://www.c21media.net often announce when a Doctor Who international sale occurs. Worth keeping an eye on, just in case.
