2005 Maggie Award Winner
In a testament to Art Director Dwight Been's creativity and humor, Software Development won Best Table of Contents, Trade & Consumer at the Western Publications Association’s 54th Annual Maggie Awards. The irreverent look at each month's cover photoshoot (penned by Been) and the easy-to-navigate design set this table of contents apart from those of other finalists in the category such as Diablo, Silicon Valley and InfoWorld.
The magazine was a finalist in two other categories, Best Software Magazine (September 2004, 20th anniversary issue) and Best Signed Editorial (July 2004, "Peeved at Payola"). The winners were announced on April 22, 2005 in Los Angeles. In 2003, Software Development won Best Software Magazine.
