The First UA Undergrad to Command a Camera on Mars

Nicole Spanovich, who just graduated with a degree in Astronomy, has launched a stellar career. As a UA undergraduate, she took pictures of Mars for NASA’s Mars Exploration Rover mission. Working with the UA’s Lunar and Planetary Laboratory in the College of Science, her team explored the secrets of the red planet. The UA wins more NASA grants for space exploration than any other university in the nation, giving motivated students like Nicole incredible opportunities. With the UA and Mars on her resume, she landed a job at NASA, right out of college.
